1928 - 2021
After the foundation of BRITIX Watch Co. in 1928, the brand became renowned for competitive prices and finest quality of its chronographs. In 1961 the company was one of the top 50 Swiss watch factories by turnover and volume. Today, vintage BRITIX watches are sold by prestigious auction houses like Bonhams and Christie's. 1928

1945
The company moves from La Chaux-de-Fonds to Lengnau (same place like RADO) and opens sales agencies in the USA and Belgium. |

1947
BRITIX gets the official Swiss rating-certificate for chronometers with honours of the “Bureaux officiels de l’école de la marche des montres” (the later COSC). |
|
|
1952
Continued specialisation in chronographs and calendar watches. BRITIX acquires the watch company Josef Flück and doubles its man power to 40 watch makers. The company becomes famous for its chronographs. Worldwide success with exports to the USA, South-America, Europe, British India and Africa. |

1954
BRITIX merges with Apex SA and launches its first automatic watch with 8 days power reserve. |

1961
Continued growth with export to 30 countries all over the world. BRITIX employs more than 100 watch makers and has a yearly output of more than 200'000 watches. The USA as its principal export market was managed by its US agency, located in the so called "diamond district" in New York City (10 West, 47th street). |

1970s - 1980s
The following decades were somewhat turbulent for the Swiss watch industry. The advent of quartz technology was just one of the many challenges that BRITIX and other major brands in the industry had to face. |

2021 -
Today, over 90 years after the brand's foundation, its story continues. Building on the enduring appeal of iconic collections, a new era begins for BRITIX in 2021. |
